GMail adds Undo Send

Accidentally sending an email before it’s ready can suck. That’s why Google1 is debuting an Undo Send feature:

you’ll see a new “Undo” link on every sent mail confirmation. Click “Undo,” and we’ll grab the message before it’s sent and take you right back to compose.

A very simple solution to what seemed like an impossible problem.

    Wait, it’s March 19… Not April 1.

I’ve got to go and unsend some e-mails that I sent to Kristen a couple of years ago…

Oh.. wait. Only 5 seconds. Well, I suppose that’s good too.

Yeah, at first I though, “No, you can’t be serious.” then I thought, “It must only be if the recipient is also a GMail account.” When I saw the solution, though, I realized how simple/obvious it is. It’d be easy for them to crank it up to give you, say, 30 seconds.

I also recommend enabling the Forgotten Attachment Detector, which scans your message text to see if you mentioned an attachment but didn’t attach anything.

Also the “Wait, are you about to email your Ex?” detector. Saves countless lives.

What do you think?
